Family:
Dee is a vibrant and visionary leader who currently resides in Lithonia with her husband and college sweetheart Army Major David H. Haigler, Jr. and their four children, Christopher (age 18), Christyn (age 17), Hannah (age 10), and Joshua (age 8).
Christopher is a freshman at the University of West Georgia. Christyn is a cheerleader and also a member of the golf team and Beta Club at Martin Luther King High School. Hannah and Joshua both attend Flat Rock Elementary.
Serving as a strong role model to her children and a supportive spouse are Dee's primary passions in life.

Political Strategist:
Dee is the President and owner of DDH & Associates a consultaning firm which specializes in Human Resources, Policy Analysis and Campaign Management.
Dee began her career in politics in West Columbia, South Carolina where she began working on a variety of campaigns at the age of 12. This passion led her to run numerous successful campaigns.
One of her proudest achievements was serving as the Campaign Manager for West Columbia, South Carolina Mayor Pro-Tem Rosemounda Peggy Butler. Dee worked tirelessly for this disabled nurse & Gulf War Veteran, who also happens to be her mother. This successful campaign led to her mother becoming the first African American elected to City Council in 1993.
Dee's numerous experiences in the political arena also include working on National Democratic campaigns. Dee managed GOTV programs throughout the Southeast for the Clinton/Gore presidential team. In 1998, Dee worked with the Georgia Coalition of Black Women and the SCLC Women organizing college outreach voter programs.
In 2004, she served as the State Field/Political Director in SC for DNC chairman Howard Dean and his bid for the US Presidency. She was also an integral part of the Dean team in the Michigan and Wisconsin democratic primaries. Dee continued to work on behalf of Democrats by serving as the Lead Advance coordinator in the Southeast region for the Kerry/Edwards team.
In 2004, Dee also worked with America's Family United and spearheaded the Southeast campaign that raised and disseminated over $1 million towards voter registration in Georgia and $6 million throughout the southeast.
Community Leader:
Dee is a strong advocate in her community and is currently works with various PTA's and PTO's in DeKalb and Rockdale counties. She previously served as the President of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Martin Luther King Jr. High School. She also volunteers her time as a PTA member at Flat Rock Elementary school.
Dee also volunteered as a coach for both the soccer and cheerleader teams at the South DeKalb YMCA. Since 1997, Dee has served as a Girl Scout Leader for numerous troops.
Dee firmly believes that when our children are given good guidance they become productive members in our communities. She has first-hand knowledge on how positive and constructive direction can easily alter a child's life. She previously served on the Juvenile Parole Board for the state of South Carolina after being appointed by Governor Jim Hodges, she was elected to numerous positions on the board – secretary, vice chair, and then Chair where she was the youngest and first African American female to hold this position.
Dee is an active member of numerous community service organizations including Jack and Jill of America (East Suburban Atlanta Chapter), Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. (Stone Mountain-Lithonia Alumnae Chapter), Coalition of 100 Black Women (Stone Mountain Lithonia Chapter), The National Council of Negro Women (Dekalb/Decatur section), Inc., The NAACP, Eastern Star, and The National Association of Black Political Scientists.

Minister:
As Dee was completing her Masters in Public Administration/Personnel Management at Kentucky State University, she received a call to the ministry. Dee responded to God's call upon her life by entering Turner Theological Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center (Atlanta) and graduating with a Masters of Divinity degree in Theology and Ethics. She also holds a doctorate in ministry degree.
Through Dee's education and faith awareness, she strives to promote anti-discrimination for everyone. She has a unique ministry which is able to bridge all age groups and cultures.
Dee is currently an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and a workshop trainer of ministers of all denominations throughout the United States.

College Educator:
During Dee's graduate studies at Kentucky State University, she worked in many areas mentoring and instructing students. Dee worked in KSU's graduate office and served as an outreach coordinator whereby she recruited graduate students from across the country. In Spring 1996, she taught Human Resource Management and Introduction to Public Policy to undergraduate students and government employees. In Summer 1996, she mentored and taught college Upward Bound and later served as the Program Coordinator with the Whitney Young Honors College where she provided counseling to students regarding long range education and job plans.
Between 1999 and 2001, Dee served as an instructor, graduate teaching assistant, and Adjunct Professor at Clark Atlanta University. At Clark Atlanta University, she taught several classes including Politics and Global Issues class, American Government, Constitutional Law, Urban Politics.

Dee Haigler is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at Clark Atlanta University, where she is ABD and completing her dissertation.
